OOC: Bonne Machines Guide

Well, since Tron's going to be building a lot of these buggers, I figure it would be best to keep a reference for everyone (and also maybe have this serve as a place where the mods can go HEY-O, TOO FAR or something like that). Only the "big" ones are listed here. Miscellaneous, minor devices have been omitted.

All images obtained from Megaman Legends Station, just resized to keep from omnomnoming the page.

Servbots

The servbots, as their name suggests, are meant to serve the Bonne family. They clean, they cook, they operate some machines, aid the Bonnes on various escapades, and even can pack some firepower when they bring weapons along. Each servbot has his own personality, but all for the most part are childish and naive, often giving up secrets that they're not supposed to give up or treating each mission like a game. They are Tron's "kids," and as hard as she is on them, she loves the little buggers to death, so if you mess with them, you're going to be sorry.

Progress in Daisychain: Servbots A, B, and C complete. It isn't likely that any more will be made.

In MML: Tron has 41 servbots in Megaman Legends, each named according to the order they were made. They're nigh indestructible, and either pilot the smaller machines or accompany the Gustaff.

In Daisychain: Tron has managed to make three servbots in Daisychain: A, B, and C. They mainly help her around the garage and gather parts for her, but she hasn't made any servbot-sized weapons for them to use as of yet. They are far from indestructible, and are powered by a souped-up rechargeable battery. At night, they "sleep" plugged in to recharge.

A has more of a leader-type personality, cheerful, optimistic, and always ready for action. He's also the most gregarious of the group, and will usually be the first to talk to people. However, he's also the most gullible of the three.

B is shy, curious, and the first one to question things if something seems a little off. He's usually the first to offer to help Tron with her work, always wanting to know how this and that works.

C is the most mischievous, and will often talk A and C into doing things. He's not the outright prank-playing type, but he has a habit of getting into trouble. Usually if B doesn't know how something works, C's probably figured it out through messing with it a little. If it's not broken.

Voice Sample

Beacon Bombs

[no image available]

The Beacon Bombs aren't really bombs; they're devices that send out a signal to the servbots, indicating a spot of interest. Once they're shot from whatever device has been installed for the purpose (whether it be a hand-held gun or something attached to one of the other robots), they attach to what they were fired. The signal lasts for a few minutes before dying down. Often, these are used in the heat of battle, in the middle of a mission, or when silence is needed (in other words, when Tron is unable to give specific instructions for the servbots to do something). This is basically their purpose both in MML and in Daisychain.

Progress in Daisychain: Handheld Beacon Bomb complete, with more made for other Bonne Machines as needed.

The Finkel

The Finkel is Tron's scouting robot, going wherever the Gustaff can't reach. It's not meant for offensive purposes, so it doesn't have any weapons. Tron uses it to accompany the servbots remotely.

Progress in Daisychain: Complete

In MML: As stated above, the Finkel goes where the Gustaff can't reach. In The Misadventures of Tron Bonne, Tron took the Finkel and the servbots into a dig site to find refractor shards (to sell for the money they needed). The Finkel could ram into things, fire Beacon Bombs, and make a loud noise to get the attention of others.

In Daisychain: The Finkel serves a similar purpose in Manhattan, though Tron will occasionally send it off on its own in order to scout out an area before sending the servbots in (since the little guys aren't as resilient as the ones on Terra). In addition to the previous incarnation's features, Tron has added speakers to it in order to communicate with others openly, since she won't always have the servbots to interact with others for her. Like the servbots, the Finkel needs to be recharged.

The Gustaff

The Gustaff is the bot the Bonnes choose when they want to get something done. Either Tron or Teisel ride in the cockpit, controlling the Gustaff from within (although a servbot is perfectly able of doing the same), often accompanied by servbots. It acts as an armor for the rider, and is made to be offensive, rather than defensive, so it packs quite a bit of power. The Gustaff is approximately two and a half times the size of the average joe, and is controlled either through a system of levers or (somewhat humorously) through a device resembling a PS1 controller.

Progress in Daisychain: Tron's started on it, but it's going to be awhile before she finishes. Probably about an in-game month or so, since the Gustaff is more complicated than the other robots she's managed to complete. It might take less time if she has help, but probably only by a week at best.

In MML: In Megaman Legends, the Gustaff has an energy cannon which can be upgraded to shoot bombs or missiles, as well as other upgrades that include tank legs and the ability to hover. It also had the ability to shoot Beacon Bombs.

In Daisychain: The Gustaff isn't going to have any of the upgrades it had in-game. It's not even going to have the cannon, since Tron probably won't be able to make anything like that without a refractor or something to build off of. In other words, the Gustaff is there to protect Tron as she goes out into the city and can attack with its fists (which are still pretty strong in their own right) but isn't about to be laying down a path of plasma bullets. Real bullets might come later with more upgrades, but it's going to take a long time before that's able to happen.

Also, powering it will be quite a problem for Tron. Tron will probably keep using electrical power, but the sheer amount needed for the Gustaff means that whenever she uses it, it's going to be awhile before she's able to use it again.
